32-bit on WinXP SP3 crashes on PCI Bus Detection

I recently upgraded to version 5.04 on two computers using WinXP SP3. One home, one pro. Each of them crashed during "PCI Bus detection". (Only the HWInfo32 process crashed - no BSoD or anything like that.)

The two computers have little in common build-wise. One is an old ultraportable laptop with a lowly Yonah Pentium M 713, and the other's got a Kentsfield Core2 Quad Q6700. Neither system was on load or anything.


The debug files are attached - hopefully it'll tell us something...?

HWinfo automatic startup question.

hi when i was fiddling with hwinfo64 settings it got to a point when i start my laptop hwinfo64 will automatically run. i tried reinstalling and reset preferences and it didnt work. and now i dont have the options for settings and which to run sensor or summary. can you help me how to totally remove hwinfo64 so that when i reinstall it will be on default settings. thanks

Sapphire R9 Fury - missing/incorrect sensor reading

Hi!

I noticed that HWINFO doesn't detect the voltage sensor and the GPU fan speed is bugged on the Sapphire card.

The voltage sensor is being detected by GPU-Z (VDDC) but the fan reading is also buggy. I guess it's because Sapphire set the fans to stop bellow a certain temperature - HWINFO shows the last captured RPM when this happens not 0 RPM like with other cards/fans.

I uploaded two GPU register dumps: one with 28% Fan (around 760 RPM) and one with 0%.

Shared Memory Function

I use aquasuite to display many of the values gathered by HWiNFO, and for the most part it works great.
There appears to be an error in that the 'units' under the system section, are not getting transferred to aquasuite, only the values make it.

I understand Shared Memory is a collaborative action between the two programs, and I was wondering if it could be determined where the mismatch is?

Save & Close button

Hi Martin,
 
text buttons are now nearly working, exept the Save & Close button.
When i open hwinfo it displayes with the same error like in older versions.
then, when i click the Configure button, the Save & Close button resizes allright.
But if i click now on the Save & Close button it jumps back to the wrong displayed state.
also when closing hwinfo and reopen again it displayes in the wrong state.
 
i attach a video, where you can see the error.

strange issue with crosfire

i have a alienware m17x r2 with 2 5870 in crossfire and when i start hwinfo it reads both gpu but after 5-10 seconds the second gpu data is gone but if i game or activate the second gpu the data is back again until i stop gaming then the data is gone again

Hi,

I was pleasantly surprised to see pump temp/speed of my Kraken X61 show up when installing HWInfo 64 on a fresh install of windows 10 today but after rebooting, the monitoring of the Kraken has disappeared and the option to add it to layout isn't visible.

fans RPM over 1000

hi,

strange issue:

values over 1000 RPM are displayed as (example) 1,272 RPM
should be 1272 RPM like always displayed in older versions.

Hi, was just wondering is there any list for a the systems supported by HWinfo for fancontrol.

I would like to manually set fan speeds on my Clevo W230SS, but I don't know whether that would be possible to implement.

Sensors causing stuttering / frame skipping and pointer lag

Hi I have an Alienware 17 r2 (2015) and I have the v5.05-2633 installed, everything was fine yesterday but today I noticed some strange lag and stutter, EC support is disabled, and everything, but, what I noticed today is that it wouldn't allow me to put custom spin numbers on the fan control, but only allows me to put 0, 2600 and 5200, anyways hope that helps

unreal engine settings optimizations

the monitor windows is very cool with its side-duplication [ may be a load & save could be added ]
i use it when i play a game to check temps
while i was playing latest batman , that has a lot of troubles with pcs .
after editing few settings in the ini , gameplay is better , unreal engine 3 has a lot of settings for memory and D3D .

may be the monitor of hwinfo could check settings and optimize them for the player and its computer ?

the two guides does not talk about the memory settings .  hwinfo and its monitor know the "truth" and can maximize memories use  [ cpu and gpu rams ] with monitoring sessions , checking the changes effects at next play  .

that should be only positive for the gamer and its computer , i think that should also be very easy to do and add to hwinfo

beside the batman games , there is also mafia2 that uses the engine and also physx , cars .
player is in cities as a driver and there are no loading except when he goes inside a  building

Hard/impossible to copy info from Summary Window

It's simple: CTRL+C doesn't work in any text fields on the summary window.

Selection is easy and possible, but I have to do Right Click > Copy in order to be able to use any info in other programs. Example being: I want to copy CPU/GPU/MB name.
I know that I can access all these information from the tree and then Copy Result, but then what's the point of the System Summary?

It would be also nice if I could copy the drive info from the bottom table or the memory timing information, not to mention the memory module's name and ID on the right (it's a combo box so it's not possible to select the text).

Show FPS on HWiNFO OSD using RTSS, but not through RTSS?

Hey.

Currently I can see the FPS, but displayed by RTSS (show own statistics), and is always the last one on the OSD. Sometimes I see that HWiNFO is able to catch the FPS report and I can move it around the OSD and even display an label, matching my other 3 characters labels, but the RTSS FPS still shows at the bottom. An obvious answer would be to disable "Show own statistics" on RTSS, but doing so HWiNFO also loses the FPS counter.

Is there any way to make RTSS feed HWiNFO with the current FPS, but not show on the OSD?

VMWARE bug

opening hwinfo when vmware is running takes too long about 10 minutes, harddrive activity led will lit untill hwinfo is done loading
this does not happen when there is no vmware running.
is there anything i need to disable to solve this problem?
