VR VCC Temperature (SVID) sensor issue?

Hello! I recently noticed that the VR VCC Temperature (SVID) readings periodically turn gray (as in the screenshot): https://imgur.com/a/cp5Ve7Y then return to normal. Is it normal? Does anyone have a similar issue? They become gray about once a minute while using the computer.

My rig:

Quick question DIMM temps

Hi Guys,

I have an ASUS Maximus XI Apex motherboard.  I also have the special Double Capacity RAM that is 64gb in 2 DIMM slots.  I thought I might mention it to you. Whatever you need I am willing to pitch in but are not sure what you need to look into it. It looks like it reads DIMM Temps once, gets a value then stops with the updates.  HWinfo counts 4 DIMMs on the system but in reality the APEX only has 2 DIMM's slots. Each DIMM slot has the new Double Capacity memory with 2 Rows of Samsung BiDi memory chips.

Everything seems to be working great and it's also working well with my monitor.  The monitor is telling me that the Dimm's aren't updating.   It's no biggie but it would be cool to know of my gSkill Trident RGB DC ram isn't burning up since it is a new technology.

Thanks and let me know if there is anyway I can help?

PS I did read the 3 posts on this issue but only one was recent.

Are there any ambient sensors on the market from which HWiNFO is capable of reading humidity data?

NVMe Serial Number Detection

How is hardware monitor detecting the serial number of NVMe drives?

I have machines with NVMe drives in them that gives us the EIU number instead of the actual serial number when we try the command: wmic diskdrive get serialnumber.

Yet if I run HWInfo it detects and provides the proper serial number, but I haven't found a way to use HWInfo to pipe the proper serial number for us to use in reporting as needed.

Any help?

Nzxt grid v3 problem on v6.06

just installed the latest build to see if I can get some fan monitoring on my grid v3 contrtoller.....unfortunately it doesnt seem to work and nzxt grid doesnt seem to work on start up on Cam...I need to always install grid drivers in cam each start up.  Revert back to v5.88 and the problem went away.  When I did install the grid drivers in cam this is how it looks on v6.06, fans dont work so I cant monitor anything and for some reason its not inline with the rest of the grid v3 section.

Kraken x42/x52/x62 Sensors not working

I have already seen that it has a topic about and was given as resolved, but continues with error.
The sensor is listed in version 6.06 3770 but is not monitoring.
In version 6.06 3775 the sensor is neither listed.
When closing the CAMapp the sensor returns to appear and monitor, however it would be good both working simultaneously.
The sensors usually work in version 6.04, with the CAM open or closed, nothing has changed.

[Request] Add maximum memory channels info

I often stumble on this when I somebody asks me to check his notebook - I can check how many memory channels are currently used but for some reason no hardware inventory tool displays how many channels can be used.

This would be really helpful, because often it's the first thing people can do to make their PC faster - Intel's integrated GPU can get a boost of 25% just by adding a second memory module.

Flickering graph

First of all, thank you for this amazing program and all the work you people have done on it!

I use HWiNFO in combination with RTSS, and a few days ago I wanted to rearrange the osd formatting.
The idea was the line up three graphs at the bottom that show gpu core load, max thread usage and fps..

Now the problem is that the graph that tracks gpu core load, will disappear for a single frame every few seconds, giving a flickering effect.

Here's a video that demonstrates the problem..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pD6LJfDl7OM

If you look closely you still see the gpu core load value on the osd even when the graph has disappeared.
Also important to note, I think, is that sometimes the problem resolves itself after about 15 to 30 minutes, then the flickering stops.

Personally, I have no idea what could be the cause, it doesn't seem like there is something that I could do about it on my end..

If you need more info on some of the settings or my setup, I'd be happy to reply.

Hello,

Anyone else has that much of a difference in those readings?
This is with default "power" settings in bios, since I know default should be good on this board yet concerns me hmm.
PSU is SS Prime Titanium 750W with cables changed for "better" ones (xd).

Is this an issue with Hwiinfo reporting the i7 8700 cpu, a motherboard settings issue or a stuck full on CPU?  Anyone have a clue?  I got the CPU  used and am on the 2nd New MB with same issue (MB settings all in default  as much as I can tell).  Thanks in advance.

Virtualization on AMD 1950X causing incorrect Bus speed reading

So, after installing Windows 10 1903, but before turning off virtualization in the OS, I noticed the bus speed was being read incorrectly resulting in a CPU frequency around 80MHz lower than the set speed on my AMD Threadripper 1950X, which may mean other AMD CPUs could be afflicted.

After some fiddling, I turned off SVM in the bios, thereby turning off CPU virtualization, then used your software and the frequency of the CPU and bus speed were read correctly. This same issue was seen in the behavior of CPU-Z.

I do not know if this is an OS issue or if this is an issue with the software itself, but wanted to raise it to your attention in the event that it is something for you to address.

Alieware Aurora R8 Launch Fan Control

Running HWiNFO on Aurora R8, it launches automatically with the Sensors window minimized. However, Fan Control does not launch automatically even though I have added OpenFanCrtlMin=1 under Settings in HWiNFO64.INI. I have to manually click on the icon and open it to ensure fans are correctly controlled. Just wondering if there is another parameter I need to configure. I am running version 6.06-3770

Many thanks!

Z390 Gigabyte bug report (erratic HWinfo readings)

$

Hi Martin!
On my Z390 Aorus Master, when I use HWinfo to monitor voltages and current, when I am running a direct3D/game, some readings get thrown off and become inaccurate.

Notably, GPU mhz (speed), GPU voltage, GPU power (Watts) (AMD Vega 64),
and
Current IOUT, Power POUT, VR VIN (CPU IR 35201)

Are the ones I notice.
the ITE 8792E sensors seem to be fine as well as the Super IO (ITE 8688E).

Oddly enough, VR VOUT on the IR 35201 seems to be unaffected and "seems" to read fine.

For example, VR VIN is the CPU +12V sensor.
Usually this is 11.906-11.938 maximum, and 11.875v during prime95 AVX load, and 11.813v worst case (talking about some 200 amp shenanigans here).

However when running a 3D game, the VR VIN goes up to 12.000v.  Even in something as weak as Overwatch.
This doesn't happen at all in Realbench 2.56, Cinebench, etc.  *ONLY* if a fullscreen D3D game is running.

Power POUT (IR 35201 power register) gets wild swings too.  However "CPU Package Power" remains nice and steady and expected.

Current IOUT has wild swings, sometimes jumping to 125 Amps (No way overwatch even comes close to pulling this much) then back down to 40 amps.
And the above GPU readouts.

However, MSI Afterburner reads the GPU speed, voltage and power perfectly accurately.  You can see this with both MSI afterburner and HWinfo running at the same time...HWinfo is allover the place randomly with the GPU speed (usually 25-50 mhz difference but sometimes dropping even down to 1000-1000 mhz then back up to 1600), and voltage/power readings fluctuating.  While MSI Afterburner is on target.

Is this some sort of bug or issue that might be addressable?

(again this only happens in games).
There is no problem in normal windows benchmarks or stress tests, where everything is dead accurate.

i7 4770K incorrectly identified as 4771

My 4770K is being identified as a 4771. It is also showing odd clock speeds (bus clock is only 98 MHz instead of 100, MSI Afterburner correctly reads 100 MHz). Windows 10 and CPU-Z are both correctly recognizing it as a 4770K.
