Using hWiNFO64 for sensor data causes my system to micro-freeze every couple seconds!

As the title says, for my Rainmeter stuff I need the hwinfo thing running to get the sensor data, however running it in the background, causes my whole system to have these small 1 second micro-freezes every couple of seconds.

Any idea what's going on?

Stop in the "Enumerating Buses ..." at the startup of HWiNFO64

(I'm sorry. I am not good at English. Please forgive the use of the translation site.)

As of the title, startup dialog (progress bar) is will stop in a state of "Enumerating Buses ...".
When the "Sensors-Only Checked" or "Summary-Only Checked", it was started without any problems.

Would you have any solutions or best practices?

It will attach a debug file. Version I've used is "HWiNFO64 v5.10-2700".
(So it could not force the end of the process, and then restart the computer.)

Thanks.

Hi Martin.
A question for you. I have always adjusted the Hwinfo64 monitor window the way I want to have it. But once I expand the window and shrink the window afterwards the window on Hwinfo64 slightly changed (not in the same position the way I want). Can you look at this ? I want Hwinfo64 window being in the same position after expansion / after shrinkage of the window. A few image you can look at.

Have a look at both screen shots paying particular attention to my GPU. The Nvidia is Disabled??!?!? Huh !?!?!. I just found this out upon installing the application and launching it. Is it actually disabled and I'm not using my card when playing games and using my integrated one? If it is indeed disabled how do I able it and make my laptop use that instead of the integrated one? Do I even want to use the nvidia one?? IDK if it is better or worse. Help would be very much appreciated.  Smile

I have installed the latest version of HWINFO32 v5.10-2700. On all the previous versions have the plugin for rainmeter and it has worked, with the new version i just installed it fails to work now. Tried to check for the shared memory setting but i cannot find it in the new version. I have updated several versions and never had to change anything before. Can someone please tell me where i would find that setting, I am looking in the general settings tab and i dont see it. Thank You. Have been using HWINFO for quite a long time and really like it but would like the rainmeter plugin working.

Rainmeter plug-in for HWiNFO 3.0

Version 3 of the HWiNFO plug-in for Rainmeter is now available and can be downloaded from here:

3.0.0 - January 1, 2016
http://www.hwinfo.com/files/RainmeterPlu...0.0.rmskin

Please Note: Version 2.0 of this plugin has a dependence on the Visual C++ 2013 runtime libraries.  These are no longer being distributed with Rainmeter as of version 3.3.  Therefore, if you do not have these runtime libraries already installed on your PC, v2.0 of this plugin will error.  Updating to 3.0 will resolve this issue.

What's New
  • Added support for remote system monitoring introduced in HWiNFO 5.0
  • Updated to the latest versions: HWiNFO 5.10, Rainmeter 3.3 and Visual Studio 2015
  • Updated so VC++ runtime libraries are no longer required
Pre-Requisites
To use this plugin, you need to ensure HWiNFO's sensors are running and "Shared Memory Support" is enabled in the HWiNFO settings.

Installation
To install the skin, simply run the downloaded .rmskin file. You should be presented with the following:
[Image: skin-example-v3.png]
Please Note: This included skin does not demonstrate the full capabilities of HWiNFO and this plugin. It is included simply to demonstrate how to use this plugin.

If you will continue to use the included skin (or create one based on this), then you must check the measure IDs included with the skin against the IDs for your hardware. It is possible the values on your PC do not match the ones in the skin. The IDs can be updated in the skin by editing the "Documents\Rainmeter\Skins\HWiNFO\@Resources\HWiNFO.inc" file using a text editor. Then replace the IDs with the matching IDs for your hardware.

Creating Rainmeter Measures
Please read the instructions for creating measures in this post:
http://www.hwinfo.com/forum/Thread-Rainm...HWiNFO-2-0

In addition, version 3 now includes the ability to add monitoring of remote systems into your Rainmeter skins.  To do so, you will use the optional HWiNFOHostId parameter. If you do not provide this parameter, the skin will continue to return the values from the local machine.

The sample skin above shows 3 graphs (CPU and dual GPUs) from the local machine, as well as CPU & GPU from two other PCs on the LAN using the new remote monitoring feature.

To specify which remote machine to connect to, please run the included HWiNFOSharedMemoryViewer.exe file.  This application has been updated to include a dropdown of remote machines configured in HWiNFO.  Selecting a remote machine will provide the id you need to provide to this parameter to query that specific machine.

[Image: remote-host-example.png]

For example, to query the CPU usage on the local machine, we would use a measure like this:

Code:
Code:
[HWiNFOCPU0Usage]
Measure=Plugin
Plugin=Plugins\HWiNFO.dll
HWiNFOSensorId=0xF0000300
HWiNFOSensorInstance=0x0
HWiNFOEntryId=0xfe
HWiNFOType=CurrentValue

To return the CPU usage of a remote system, we would also include the Remote Host ID as the HWiNFOHostId parameter:

Code:
Code:
[HWiNFORemoteHost1CPU0Usage]
Measure=Plugin
Plugin=Plugins\HWiNFO.dll
HWiNFOHostId=1
HWiNFOSensorId=0xF0000300
HWiNFOSensorInstance=0x0
HWiNFOEntryId=0xfe
HWiNFOType=CurrentValue

Skin Authors: The plugin is included in the "Documents\Rainmeter\Skins\HWiNFO\@Resources\RedistrutablePlugin" folder. Feel free to use it in your own works. If you create a skin that you think others may want to use, kindly mention it in this forum.

If you have any questions or issues, please let me know.

Rainmeter + HWiNFO - Getting Up and Running

Can HWinfo monitor how much power(watt) a laptop use?

Hi,

I wonder is there anyway that I can know how much power that my laptop use?
I have Alienware 17R2, and my psu adapter is 240W. Is there a way I can know at the moment, how much power does CPU, GPU consume? It would be including monitor, RAM, fans,...

I read somewhere and can find that my CPU is about 47W max, GPU can go up to 100W or something. But how can I know how much power it really use?

H110i GTX Issues

So I read another thread on here about how the Corsair Link Software doesn't play nice with HWiNFO. If I disable Corsair Link but leave the USB plugged in, the fans still spin up to 50% power even though there is no software running that should change it. This does not happen when the USB is not plugged in. If the USB is not plugged in the fans remain at ~800RPM. But with the USB plugged in they start at 800RPM and then ramp up to about 1500RPM when HWiNFO starts. My hypothesis is that the protocols used by HWiNFO to read the sensors in the H110i also inadvertently change the fan speed settings. Is this a possibility or am I just talking out of my ass?
I have also included a monitoring log, a report file and a debug file for any relevancy that they provide.

Hello, i was thinking if there is possible to add such feature to record acumulated data disk read and write in a session, like total data read from the disk since hwinfo started till the present.
Can i find something like this?

Currently im running in some sort of deadlock while using HWINFO. Everytime im starting the programm it crashes while Analyzing Devices . Any sugesstions how to solve this ?. This also leads to the problem that the thread goes inaktive and refuses any interaction with the taskmanager so only a restart solves that issu.

I have a Alienware 18, have installed HWiNFO64 but cant seem to change the fan speed for the GPU fan. The fan works as it spins up for a few seconds when you boot the laptop but will not come on in window even when it hits 100c.

Have updated to latest Bios
Running windows 8.1

I have read a few threads from a wile back but still unsure if this can be done on the Alienware 18

Any help would be great and thank you for a great piece of software as I used it on my previous machine  Smile

HWiNFO64 Freezes Windows 7 Shutdown & HDD Disappear

$

I am currently running into two issues with HWiNFO64.

The first, is that my HDD's disappear from Windows Explorer after starting up HWiNFO64.

The second issue is that Windows shutdown freezes after I run the program.  Shutdown goes fine if I boot and don't start up HWiNFO64, but if I start it and leave it running, or close it, then Windows freezes in the shutdown sequence and requires a hard shutdown.  See attached system report and debug file.  Note that the issue persists on stock settings as well as overclocked.  Help would be much appreciated, as I like HWiNFO far better than other monitoring programs.

Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium
Intel i7-4770K @4.2GHz
ASUS Maximus VI Extreme BIOS 1603 (8-15-14)
4x4GB G.Skill RAM running SPD settings @1600MHz
NVidia GTX 980
2x 1TB Samsung 850 EVO SSD
2x 3TB WD HDD

If you need any further information please let me know.

I have a liquid temp sensor in my loop connected to the t_sensor1 plug on my z170 deluxe. however i cannot for the life of me find the value in hwinfo64, there are multiple temps that it could be but i know for sure if it is one of them. Also further down the list i can see that T_sensor 1 is marked as red in a list of others that are red. Any help?
