Maximus X Hero (Wifi) - T2 temp reading?

$

Hi there

I was wondering what the T2 temperature reading is here? All the other motherboard readings (excluding CPU-related) are static, but T2 seems to rise during stress testing. I would guess it's the VRM, but I don't know that for sure and would really like to know. Many thanks!

CPU Temperature not alligning with RTSS?

Hello everyone, i'm having a problem with the CPU temperature display, since i have a Ryzen 5 1600 CPU, i need to use HWInfo so the "CPU Temperature" shows up on MSI Afterburner, i'm monitoring CPU Temp and CPU Fan Speed, CPU Fan Speed is perfectly alligning with the CPU group name, but CPU Temp will just hang out on the botton of the graph no matter what i do, all the settings on both MSI and HWinfo are right, i even tried to allign it manually by moving the Temp graph right and left and up and down, that didn't work either, what should i do? here's a pic for reference https://imgur.com/Cga5XPD

WHEA errors "Memory controller" what does it mean?

$

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out what is causing these WHEA errors on my Dual Xeon build.  In HWiNFO, it specifies the errors as:

"CPU Memory Controller Errors"

I thought I fixed this by disabling NUMA, but now they are back. It seems that whenever my CPUs stay above X% usage for some time (what percent is unclear, but they're practically never above 50%, so it must be below 50%), these errors are thrown. However, I have a wattage meter plugged into this PC, and it never goes above 300w at 100% load... and the PSU is a 750w EVGA Supernova G3.

No BSoD's, no memory dumps, no program crashes...

Here is the error:

The CPU's are cooled by 2x H80i v2's, and never go above 45-50C even under high-load. I run this same program on i9-7940x, and Xeon E5-2680 (single) with no problem, I've never even seen a WHEA error before this as I'm not an overclocker.

The voltages in HWiNFO are all showing the proper numbers. The voltages per socket differ slightly (very slightly), but I'm assuming that is to be expected on this type of setup. The back VRM's are a bit hotter because they're not getting much air flow, but I mean... we're talking like 45-50C max. Also the DIMM slots stay reasonably cool, usually below 40C.

Both CPUs:
Package/Ring Thermal Throttling - No
Package/Ring Critical Temperature - No
Package/Ring Power Limit Exceeded - No

I can't seem to find any information on what causes Event ID 20 besides some vague language from Microsoft that doesn't really make sense. I know the guys at HWiNFO are really knowledgeable about this stuff so I was hoping someone could help.

Note that there is no overclocking BCLK or anything, everything is 100% stock. Both Xeon's are identical, E5-2695 v2 running on ASUS Z9PA-D8 LGA2011 dual socket ATX board. Memory is 64gb Micron DDR3 1600mhz ECC. All memory is properly recognized in both BIOS and Windows.

Running Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool and will report back with results.

100% Pass on both CPU's.

Last thing, I went to device manager and did show hidden devices and it seems the MEI NULL HECI isn't installed (only showing in hidden devices). Installed it although somehow I doubt it matters, we'll see.

Please let me know if there's any way you could help me figure this out. Full test results attached to this post.

Happening a lot:

Also just found this thread:

I'm starting to wonder if it's the motherboard NIC... Because the program it's running is running many threads simultaneously.  I have HWiNFO debug mode on, waiting for the next WHEA error and will post.

I'm starting to wonder if it's

Persistent Driver not being Persistent - Always ask's for Admin Rights...!

Hi there,

Installed Version : 5.86-3480
Windows 10 1803

I have tried the following combinations,

- Update to 5.86.3480 from 5.74
- Uninstall 5.86.3480 > Restart > install > Driver Management > install Persistent Driver
close and open the hwinfo64 in standard user mode - but ask for admin rights....

.jpg   error2.jpg (Size: 14.78 KB / Downloads: 3)
Now I've created a shortcut to run it always in admin mode....

Please look into it and give a way by default to install driver permanently during installation itself......!
so that the application can start instantly without any admin rights password every time.....

Thanks in advance

Cpu pll oc voltage, Cpu-gpu temps and Power consumption(couple of questions)

Hello. I have couple of questions. Im really curious about this.

1- Why cpu pll oc voltage affects cpu temps weirdly. People generally says it skews temp readings. I checked thermal throttling and performance limit reasons tab on the hwinfo. Its always throttling at 99C doesnt matter cpu pll oc voltage. But 1.2v pll oc gives much lower temps than 1.3v pll oc. Mobo automatically sets 1.3v if i overclock or enable xmp feature of my ram. However im using default 1.2v always.

Cpu pll oc voltage doesnt affects any stability.

Prime 95 1.17v: hottest core 72C
Prime 95 1.2v: hottest core 75C
Prime 95 1.25v: hottest core 80C
Prime 95 1.3v: hottest core 85C

Looks like temp reading offset but some cores gains more temps than others. No package power difference. Which temp is true ? 1.2v 98C works without throttling. So 1.2v should be true reading ?

Mobo: Msi z270 tomahawk arctic
Cpu: 7700k
Gpu: Vega 64 LC

2- Also i have 2 cpu package readings. One of them is on the 7700k dts tab, other one 7700k enhanced tab. Both reports little different temps.

5min recording:
Cpu pack dts:  min35 max71 avg39
Cpu pack enhanced: min35 max72 avg39 (both readings averaging same temp after couple of minute but they are always reporting different temps at the same time)
Peci: min35 max71 avg 38.6
Core max: min33 max71 avg37

Delay 0 ms.

What is core max temp btw. Which one is more reliable. I guess individual core temps more reliable but i want just one number.

3- Do you have any idea about Vega hotspot temp ? After repasting and repadding my temps improved but hotspot temp worse now.

4- Watt readings are reliable ? Cpu package power for cpu and gpu core power, gpu memory power, gpu chip power for gpu. Also i have Corsair rm1000i so i can see power consumption with hwinfo. How much reliable are these readings ? Cpu and gpu readings showing total 15-20w consumption at idle but my psu readings 60W at idle. 50-55w coming from 12v rail.  10W from 5v and 3.3v rails.

HWinfo stop responding with AV on

hi ,
HWinfo is stoping responding when is analising the hardware with AV on , I have the ESET AV and I use AMD hardware .
I already add hwinfo location and exe. to the exclusion of the AV but same thing happens ... only disabling the AV the software opens without any problem .

Can I run Fan Control at each startup?

Is there any way that I can automatically run/load Fan Control at each Windows startup please?

I have an Alienware M17xR3 that has lousy fan control. The laptop's fan(s) only speed up at boot up and shut down but not when the CPU temp gets high.

Thanks. Shy

CPU Power of AMD FX-8350 Correct?

$

I like to use HWinfo. But the AMD FX-8350 should actually be a power-hungry.

However, shows me HWinfo in the CPU power line that consumes this minimal 14.154 watts. And maximum I come to about 52 watts.

I have activated all saving functions. Also, my CPU is not overclocked and even a little undervoltaged. The self-subdued self had until now had no effect on the watts. At least according to the ad.

What exactly is the CPU power indicator for AMD FX-8350? What differences can I schedule?

By the way ... if I have graphics card the GPU VRM Voltage, etc. Manually according to what the watts consumption, so I come to other results. These do not differ very much, but they are still there. How so?

And you can not possibly synonymous with the CPU amp display? Would be useful in order to recalculate synonymous.

Hi so some one asked me to download this to check if my gpu or cpu is overheating and I'm not sure which one to choose. I numbered them and put them on a dice and rolled HWiNFO v5.86 Installer option local. Did I get it right?

I activated Sidebar but not?
I clicked on the "Add to sidebar" section to read specific and then ran the "HWiNFO32.gadget" file as part of the HWiNFO32 package.

and updated version 4.06 and do not know how to download necessary utilities and other add-ons / utilities.

So I'm experiencing a kinda weird issue. Just installed HwInfo yesterday and had it running. Later on when I finished monitoring stuff I wanted to close it. The main window closed and the startup window popped up

I tried to close it, it pops up again and again. Sometimes it takes more, sometimes less time.

Temp sensors questions

Looking at what I have with my Maximus X Code, here's an HWInfo screenshot:

So why is T_Sensor1 still under the ASUS EC but you can still use it as a monitor temperature in the BIOS? I thought T_Sensor1 is a non-EC sensor?

Also, from what I can tell:

T1 = Motherboard Temp
T2 = CPU Temp

Why are there two sensors of each (duplicates)? What are Temp4 and Temp5 (they don't seem to be moving at all)?

USB Wireless Adapter not detected anymore

I think there is a problem in latest versions. My wireless adapter is not recognized anymore.

v.3.80 was showing my USB wireless adapter correctly, without any ethernet adapter on board. After this version of HWInfo32 the wireless adapter has disappeared. However two ethernet adapters on motherboard are shown now. (I tried out 3.86,3.88 and 3.90)
