In HWiNFO Shared Memory Viewer everything works fine except for UPS where there is no data. I don't understand because there is plenty of UPS sensor info in HWiNFO?

hwinfo64 sensor only crash

Hi, I have a problem starting hwinfo64 with the sensors only option ticked, it starts reading the system and then nothing. If I open task manager it shows the hwinfo64 is using one of the eight cores continuously a max speed, the only way to stop this is to end the processin task manager. On reading through some of the other users bug reports with problems similar to mine, i tried some of the recommendations (turning of drive scan and host etc.), none of these made any difference, always the same problem. I also found that if I started the program without the sensor option ticked, the program ran fine untill I switched the monitoring-sensor status on, then it starts to read the system, then freezes the program with "hwinfo64 is not responding" and I have to use task manager to stop hwinfo64 from using the one core at max speed again.
This all started when I updated from version 4.64-2530 to v5.20-2800. The older version was working perfectly a few minutes before the update, there were no driver updates between using one version to the next (windows updates is on manual). I have for the moment uninstalled v5.20-2800, run ccleaner reg cleaner and installed v5.02-2575 and all is running great again.
I will when I have time re-install v5.20-2800 and get a debug file for you (I'm on my way to work at the mo sending this from my phone.

Incorrect CPU (Vcore) Voltage Reading in P5Q motherboard

hi there, and thanks for this awesome software.

I've read the "known issues" sticky about incorrect cpu voltage readings, and thought I should post these pictures that prove it in my mobo, for future correcting.

In the first picture you can see that the CPU voltage reading in BIOS is 1.144

.jpg   IMG_1129.JPG (Size: 412.65 KB / Downloads: 2)

In the second picture you can see that the CPU (Vcore) Voltage reading in HWinfo is 1.112, while the "VR OUT" Voltage reading is actually the correct CPU voltage reading (btw I don't know what VR OUT voltage stands for)

.jpg   Untitled-2.jpg (Size: 268.09 KB / Downloads: 2)

Also I have two (different) +3.3 Voltage readings in Hwinfo, and I don't know the reason for this. The corrent +3.3 reading is the first one in order, according to the BIOS picture above, as you can see.

Hello,

I've bought two DDR2-SDRAM modules "Qumox" brand in Amazon. The thing is that HWinfo32 doesn't recognize this modules. Is there any problem with them?

Module Manufacturer:                                                            Unknown
Module Model:
Serial Number:                                                                  N/A
Manufacturing Date:                                                             Unknown

thanks

Add keyboard shortcut to disable or hide sensors

Sometimes my HWiNFO64 loses a few sensors for no apparent reason, other than a bad restart, or sensors reporting 0 (could just be 0 celsius, or 0 volts, 0 rpm, etc). Only way to get them back is to restore original order in the layout submenu of Sensors. Though in more recent builds, there are more and more sensors available that is not relevant to me (has information that does not change, not applicable, etc). It takes a long time to disable the sensor (reduce CPU usage) and hide it after (make everything fit in the window without scrollbars) by right clicking each sensor and clicking disable then right clicking again and clicking hide. I know some fields I can mass disable and mass hide if there are no sensors in that field that are relevant, such as CPU performance limit reasons, but I can't do that for other sensors, such as distance to TjMAX if I'm only concerned about absolute core temperature.

So I propose a keyboard shortcut, if possible. If you have a selected sensor, you may be able to (toggle) disable it with the delete key, and hide it with shift+delete.

Also, sort of on topic. If you hide a sensor, is it automatically disabled, i.e., will HWiNFO64 still poll the sensor if it is hidden but not specifically disabled before it was hidden?

I want you to know I greatly appreciate how quick you are to respond and how open you are to fixes and suggestions. <3

Battery EEPROM

So not really a question about hwinfo64, but how it works.

I am trying to alter a laptop battery EEPROM to reflect the new cells in the battery. I dumped the battery firmware image and have no idea what to alter. I noticed that hwinfo64 can detect the design capacity, current capacity, and wear level. Basically I need to raise the capacity to match that of the new cells (76960 to 100640), reset the wear level to 0, and toy with the current capacity to get 100% to be about 16.8V.

I have attached the EEPROM dump of the P150HM battery, which is being used for the new cells.

Here is the hwinfo64 report for the P150EM battery, which is believe is 100% physically identical to the P105HM battery, but may have a different name in the EEPROM image.

[General Properties]

Device Name:X51
Manufacturer Name:Clevo CO.
Serial Number:
Unique ID:Clevo CO.X51
Chemistry:Lithium Ion
Designed Capacity:76960 mWh
Full Charged Capacity:27720 mWh
Wear Level:64.0 %

[Current Power Status]

Power Status:On AC Power
Current Capacity:27720 mWh (100.0 %)
Current Voltage:14.800 V

So if you could point out to me where the values are in the EEPROM that I want to change, or documentation for the EEPROM image, I would great appreciate it.

AMD GPU VRM reading randomly dissapearing from OSD since v5.20 (build 2800).

Like the title says since 5.20 my GPU VRM reading is flickering on and off in afterburner OSD. It worked ok earlier this week and i havent updated either afterburner or AMD drivers - however i did update HWInfo. Yes im using ADL because this is the only way to get VRM temperature.

AMD Radeon 7870 XT (Tahiti GCN 1.0), AMD Crimson 16.1 (latest is 16.1.1).
Windows 7 SP1 x64 (all updates done).

Sensor only mode inactive

First of all, huge thank you for the work on HWiNFO, truly the only piece of software that actually is able to keep my laptop running properly.

I have recently upgrade to Windows 10 doing a clean install for the first time and installed HWiNFO. The problem I seem to be running into a weird issue. Upon starting HWiNFO up in sensor only mode it scans for hardware but upon finishing I do not get a sensor window and HWiNFO starts running in the background. It doesn't appear to freeze but fails to open up a sensor window and stays open in the background. I have tried various settings and have used a fresh ini file several times to no avail. When running in normal mode, click on sensors also freezes HWiNFO which I find is a bit odd. I have a DBG file of when HWiNFO fails and goes into the background, if nothing useful comes out of the DBG file I can also get one for when it hangs.

HWiNFO Version: 5.20 (I have tried both 64bit and 32bit)

HWinfo BSOD

Hi,

First thanks for your very good program.

HWinfo64 running on Win 7 computer + ASUS Z170A MB works fine EXCEPT when I use a backup program to clone one hard drive to a backup drive, I get a BSOD with the following error summary:

crash dump file: C:\windows\Minidump
This was probably caused by the following module: iastora.sys (iaStorA+0xEA99C)
Bugcheck code: 0xD1 (0x10, 0x2, 0x1, 0xFFFFF8800111199C)
Error: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
file path: C:\windows\system32\drivers\iastora.sys

Steps/observations I have taken to troubleshoot:
1.  When I run my backup program without Hwinfo64 running, it runs without any problems, no BSOD.
2.  Updated Intel RST driver/iastora.sys, BSOD problem persisted

3.  Tried Hwinfo64 in Low level I/O access BSOD occurs
4.  Tried Hwinfo64 with drive scans disabled, no BSOD

Would appreciate your help to fix this.

Thanks,
Bill

HWInfo and Corsair Link?

I installed a Corsair H100i GTX and the Link software recently.  I then tried to load HWInfo64 and got a message that it was not compatible with the Link Software.  I then updated HWInfo64 to the latest version (5.20) and it flashed a comment about being OK with Corsair Link (I think?).  But as you can see from the screen shot things aren't OK.  I do not have the Link Software running and I have uninstalled and reinstalled HWInfo64 several times with not success.  I have not tried disconnecting the USB cable used by the H100i GTX.  HWInfo64 is installed on several other systems and has no issues.  In fact, one of the systems is almost exactly the same hardware configuration except it has an old H100i where the pump and fans are being controlled by the MB.  Can someone please give me a hint on where I went wrong.  Thanks in advance.

Alienware M17x R2 5870 CrossFire second fan

Hello,
I looked on your forum multiple times and I never found an answer for my problem... I use HWInfo64 (even the HWInfo32 doesn't make any difference) for the custom fan preset. My problem is that when I use it, the secondary fan for my dual GPU setup isn't affected by the preset that I saved. This is only affected when the crossfire is enable. If it disable, I can control the fan flawlessly.

thanks!

(PS. When I enter the value for the first time and then click on "Ok", the change isn't saved. I need to do this multiple time to make the program take it)
