[Request] Auto-update capability

I apologize if this is a frequently requested feature, although I'd like to put my own request in too. As the Q&A states;

This is a great reason to have auto-updating built in to the program. From a UX persepctive, I think it would be great if it works like the installer where it will ask you if you'd like to reset your settings or not. I can see this working both for standard installations and portable installations.
